Roy Lee Cornatzer, Jr.

Mr. Roy Lee Cornatzer, Jr., 92, passed away on September 1, 2024. Roy was born on May 4, 1932, to the late Roy Lee Cornatzer, Sr., and Mamie Beauchamp Cornatzer. He was a member of Clemmons First Baptist Church. Roy loved to talk to people and made many friends over the years. He enjoyed watching his vegetable gardens grow and sharing his produce with others. He worked for 38 years at Piedmont Concrete. He was a devoted husband to his late wife, JoAnn Speaks Cornatzer, for 69 years. Roy was preceded in death by his parents, wife, sisters, Minnie Rea Hutchins and Madeline Styers, and brothers McKinley Cornatzer and Jerry Cornatzer. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, children Vickie Linville (David) and Ricky Cornatzer (Frances); grandchildren Laura Clark (Daniel), Avery McMillan (Grant), Jackson Cornatzer (Angelia), and Cody Brewster (Emma); great-grandchildren Sophia Clark and Ava Clark; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 10:00am Saturday, September 7th, 2024, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Jackson Cornatzer officiating. Burial will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the funeral home. The family would like to extend their thanks to the staff at Clemmons Village II and Trellis Supportive Care for the care and compassion given to our Mr. Roy. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Trellis Supportive Care, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103. Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel is serving the Cornatzer family.
