Mr. Roy Anderson Bowen, 79, of Kernersville died Friday, March 9, 2012 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born May 5, 1932 in High Point, the son of the late, Jacob and Ora Belle Whitlock Bowen. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Paul Bowen, Fred Bowen, Tommy Bowen and Clarence Bowen and two sisters, Margie Lawson and Betty Grimes. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Bowen of the home; two sons, Mark Bowen and wife, Lynn of Midway and Tim Bowen of Kernersville; one daughter, Annette Fishel of High Point; two sons by a previous marriage, Andy Bowen and Jeff Bowen; seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; one brother, James Bowen of Advance; one sister, Mary Daniels of Manteo; two special sisters-in-law, Helen Bowen of Winston-Salem and Linda Wall and husband, Harold of High Point; many nieces and nephews and a special friend and neighbor, John Rollins. A graveside service will be conducted Tuesday at 1:00 PM at Crestview Memorial Park with Rev. Mike Lee officiating. The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home on Silas Creek Parkway. The family would like to thank the staff of Kate B.
