Roy Adams

Mr. Roy Steven Adams, age 70 of Advance, passed away Sunday, December 19, 2021.  He was born December 8, 1951 in Wilkes County to the late Roy Calvin Adams and Marion Stone Adams.  Mr. Adams graduated from Appalachian State University with degrees in Biology and Geology, as well as completing military training programs at the Army command Staff College.  Mr. Adams was a Vietnam Veteran and retired as a Colonel from the US Army after 33 years of service in the US Navy and Army. After retiring, Mr. Adams ran the E Link Program at Davidson County Community College for 10 years.  Mr. Adams was an Eagle Scout and member of Advance Masonic Lodge, York Rite Bodies of North Carolina, Veteran of Foreign Wars, American Legion and Vietnam Veterans Association.  He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Beverly H. Adams of the home; two sons, Zachary Adams and Aaron Adams both of Advance and one brother, Rick Adams of Hamptead, NC.  A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Thursday, December 30, 2021 at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel by Rev. Francis Smith.  The family will receive friends following the service.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Humane Society of Davie County.
