Roxie Stewart Foster Jones, 76, of Lewisville, NC died on September 29, 2013 following a long illness with Alzheimer's disease. Roxie was born in Winston-Salem as the third of five children to Henry Wilson Stewart and Rosa Harbin Stewart on December 21, 1936. She attended Lewisville High School and married Calvin Burton ""Bunk"" Foster after the tenth grade on June 6, 1953, but went on to graduate in 1955. Roxie worked in banking, office administration, and bookkeeping. She worked for many years for Leonard Oil Co. She left public work to care for Mr. Foster when he became ill and eventually died from cancer in September 1997. She loved the beach and spent as much time as possible at their home on Oak Island and traveling with good friend, Patsy Beroth, before her decline. She was a member at Lewisville Baptist and attended Center Grove Baptist for several years. A few years after Mr. Foster's death, she met and was married to Smith Jones of Advance for a short period. Roxie and Calvin are survived by their four children, Patsy Foster Daniels, married to Michael Daniels of Raleigh; Jerry Calvin Foster, married to Vivian of Greensboro; Sandra J. Mock, married to Allen ""Zeke"" Mock of Lewisville, and Penny Foster Whitlock of Oak Island. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Roxie was preceded in death by her sister Annie Lou Stewart Foster and is survived by two brothers, Roy Stewart and RL (wife Barbara Jean) Stewart and sister, Marie ""Mae"" Cagwin. The family will receive friends at Hayworth Miller Funeral Home on 6685 Shallowford Rd. in Lewisville, NC from 6-8:00 PM on October 1, 2013. The funeral service will follow at 8:00 PM. A brief graveside will be held at Westlawn Gardens of Memory in Clemmons, NC October 2, 2013 at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Elizabeth and Tab Williams Adult Day Center 231 Melrose Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27103 or the Alzheimer's Foundation. The family wishes to thank the caregivers of Trinity Elms, Vienna Village, and Bermuda Commons for the thoughtful care they provided to their mother.
