Rose Mary Eloise Bates, 86 of Pfafftown passed away surrounded by her loved ones on Friday March 20, 2015. Born February 7, 1929 in Brooklyn, NY to the late John Newton Bates and Rose Eloise De La Riviero Bates. Preceded in death by, her mother, father, two brothers and sister. She was a faithful wife, devoted mother and caring grandmother. Survived by her loving husband of 67 years Albert William Brown, daughter Candy Brown Plummer, husband Jimmy Plummer, daughter Debbie Brown Maciag, son Jack Brown, wife Ticia Brown. Grandchildren Rickie, Tina, Donny, Billy, Jacob-James, Jason, Breann, Kristie, Marco, Ross, Eli, Michael, Joseph and Ashley. Great-grandchildren, Franklin, Jordan, Tabitha, Chase, Levi, Gavin and nieces, nephews and loving friends. Known to most by Rosemary or Nan, she earned her Masters in Psychology and continued to spread her knowledge through teaching, public speaking and mentorship. She was an active member of the Brookstown United Methodist Church and enjoyed two decades as the lead singer in a barber shop quartet ""Sweet Adeline's"". Her hobbies included playing with her dog Holly, playing Mrs. Claus alongside her husband ""Santa"" Bill Brown, scrabble, crocheting, sewing, road trips, going to the beach while eating sloppy joes, reading, journaling, hosting thanksgiving/Christmas Eve and eating only blue M&M's. ""Good better best, never take a rest, until the good is better and the better is best"" A memorial service will be held on Saturday March 28, 2015 at Brookstown United Methodist Church with a reception to follow.
