Mrs. Rose Marie Parks Sealey Mock, our Beloved Mother and Nana joined our Lord and Savior, Sunday evening October 4, 2009 after a prolonged illness. We will forever miss her, miss her smile, but will always celebrate her life. Rose Marie was born January 27, 1931. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Roy Parks; her mother, Jenny Isodora Parks; her beloved step-mother, Augusta Parks and 14 brothers and sisters. Rose Marie was married in December 1951 to Lloyd Robert Sealey of Whiteville, until his untimely death in 1964. She married again to William Mahlon Mock of Winston-Salem and they were married 28 years until his death in 1994. Mrs. Mock was a member of Konnoak Hills Moravian Church and retired from Western Electric (AT&T). Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Mike Hartle of the home; her granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Angela and Robert Carpenter of East Bend; two precious great grandchildren, Gabriella (Gabby) and Hunter Carpenter and grandson, Kevin Shelton of San Diego, CA; her beloved baby sister, Kay Parks Padon and husband Raymond of Lexington; numerous nieces and nephews and two very close friends that have been like a son and daughter to her. Of Rose Marie's attributes, one of her favorites was belonging to the Mary Ann Fogle Service League of Old Salem and working at the Candle Tea in Old Salem every Christmas. She loved flowers and reading, as well as traveling and just having quiet time. Rose Marie leaves us with a legacy of love for her family, friends, her Church, her love for Jesus Christ and a strength of will to never give up. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at Konnoak Hills Moravian Church with Rev. John D. Rights officiating. Burial will follow in the Becks Reform Church in Lexington. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Memorials may be made to Konnoak Hills Moravian Church Organ Fund or to Sunnyside Ministry in Winston-Salem. Our family would like to take this opportunity to give our most gracious thanks and love to all the staff, doctors and nurses at Forsyth Medical Center. We especially want to recognize and extend our thanks and love to the wonderful nurses, doctors and staff at Select Specialty Hospital. Their care for our Mother and Nana helped her last weeks and days to have comfort and dignity and we will be forever grateful. Online condolences may be sent to www.hayworth-miller.com.
