Joseph- Mrs. Rosalie Azevedo Joseph, 96, passed away June 16, 2010 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born October 14, 1913 in Honolulu, HI to the late Joseph Vieira Azevedo and Maria DeFranca Azevedo. Mrs. Joseph was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Winston-Salem and a former member of St. Stephens Catholic Church in Honolulu, HI. She was a graduate of McKinley High School and a longtime member of the YLI'S (Young Ladies Inst). She was always known as ""Auntie Rosalie"" until later in life, when she became ""Granny Rosalie"". She loved all the children in her neighborhood and considered each one to be special by treating them as if they were her own. Mrs. Joseph was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony Joseph and by her son, Neal Anthony Joseph. She is survived by her son, Patrick C. Joseph and wife Elly of Dallas, TX; a brother, Stanley Azevedo and wife Sandy of Madeira Beach, FL; a daughter-in-law, Betty Lou Joseph of Winston-Salem; five grandchildren, C.J. Joseph of Winston-Salem, Samantha Joseph of Wichita, KS, Patrick Joseph and wife Christine of Phoenix, AZ, Eric Joseph and wife Kelly of Apex, NC, and Brian Joseph of Dallas, TX; two great-grandchildren, Jaylen and Ty Joseph of Apex, NC. A Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 pm, June 19, 2010 at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church Chapel. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Palliative Care 101 Hospice Lane Winston - Salem NC 27103. Memorial service in Honolulu for Rosalie, Tony & Neal will be held in the fall.
