Mr. Ronald Wray Sutphin, Sr., 69, of Winston-Salem died Saturday, February 13, 2010 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born September 11, 1940 in Charlotte, the son of the late Harvey and Rena Flippin Sutphin. Mr. Sutphin was retired from the US Navy and R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Wilbur Sutphin and Raymond Sutphin and two sisters, Betty Cummings and Ruby Mathis. Survivors include his wife Judy C. Sutphin of the home; one son, Ronald Wray Sutphin, Jr. and wife, Tammy of Asheville; his twin brother, Donald G. Sutphin and wife, Jane of Winston-Salem; and several aunts and nieces. A memorial service will be conducted Tuesday at 2:00 PM at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Dr. Mark Ashworth officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Kate B.
