Ronald Eugene Simonds

LEWISVILLE- Ronald Eugene Simonds, 75, passed away at his home on Sunday, July 3, 2011. He was born January 2, 1936 in Catawba County to the late Kenneth Albert and Juanita Skidmore Simonds. Mr. Simonds graduated from Walter Williams High School in 1954 and went on to earn a B.S. in Math from Elon College in 1959. He retired from AT&T (Lucent Technologies) after a lifetime career as a technical writer. He enjoyed football, golf, basketball, dancing and biking. He also enjoyed officiating high school football games. Mr. Simonds was preceded in death by his parents as well as a son Stephen E. Simonds. Mr. Simonds' survivors include his son, Ken Simonds and wife Marie; a grandson, Grant Simonds; his sister, Wanda Foster and husband Fred; a niece and nephew, Jennifer and Freddie Foster; former wife, Sarah Hester; daughter-in-law, Donna Simonds and numerous other family members. A memorial service will be held at Parklawn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel, Monday, July 18, 2011 at 11:00AM. Memorials may be made to K.B.
