Ronald Ernest Exline

Mr. Ronald Ernest Exline, 81, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on August 5, 2016, at Forsyth Medical Center. Ronald was born in Allegheny County, PA, on November 10, 1934, to Lula Bell Pritts and Warren Edward Exline. He grew up in Pittsburgh, PA, and graduated from Duquesne High School in 1953. After high school he worked on the Union Railroad and enlisted in the U.S. Airforce in 1954, serving until 1958. On July 25, 1959 he married the love of his life, Shannon Knox. Once graduating from the Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics, he worked as a Jet Engine Mechanic for Eastern Airlines in New York, NY. Later, he attended Atlanta Christian College to obtain his B.A. in Christian Ministries. After graduation he became the Minister at Matthews Chapel Church of Christ for 37 years, and continued his work in pastoral care ministries at First Christian Church of Kernersville where he ultimately retired. Following retirement he became a member of Pinedale Christian Church. Throughout his life he touched the hearts of many and his legacy will continue to live on. A dedicated husband, loving father, and proud grandfather, he will be missed deeply and remembered for his selflessness and humble ways. He was preceded in death by his parents. Surviving are his loving wife of 57 years, Shannon Exline; one daughter, Joni Morris (husband Tim); one son, Jeff Exline (wife Amy); eight grandchildren, Zachary Morris (wife Amber), Ashton Morris (wife Aly), Scott Morris, Austin Exline, Casey Morris, Hunter Ronald Morris, Shannon Elise Morris, and Briana Exline; and many nieces and nephews. Also surviving are two brothers, George Exline, and Warren Exline (wife Arlene); and several special sisters-in-law. A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Monday, August 8, 2016, at Pinedale Christian Church with Dr. Peter L. Kunkle officiating. Interment will follow at Eastlawn Gardens of Memory in Kernersville. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00pm on Sunday, August 7, 2016, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel and one hour prior to the service at the church.
