Mr. Ronald Crosby Doby, 64, of Winston-Salem, passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at his home. He was born August 14, 1949 in Forsyth County to Charlie Henry and Ruth Pollard Doby. Mr. Doby was a member of Friends Baptist Church. He was retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company with 35 years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Vietnam. He was preceded in death by his father. Surviving are his mother, Ruth Doby of Winston-Salem; three children, Matthew Saunders of Advance, Kristina Lowry and husband Brian of Advance, and R.C. Doby II of Winston-Salem; four granddaughters; one grandson; and two sisters, Vivian Gross and Janet Rose and husband Dale, all of Winston-Salem. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 15, 2014 at Friends Baptist Church with the Rev. Darren Osborne officiating. Burial will follow in Westlawn Gardens of Memory in Clemmons with military rites by the Clemmons Honor Guard. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
