Ronald Preston Banner

Mr. Ronald Preston Banner, 69, passed away unexpectedly at his home Friday, March 3, 2017. Ronnie is survived by the love of his life, Linda Atwood, his daughter, Dawn Atwood, his faithful companion, ""Pappy"" and his brother, Jeff Banner of Winston-Salem. Ronnie is also survived by his Godchild, Abbie Bennett, a niece, Leah Galloway and sister-in-law, Jane Galloway. He was preceded in death by his parents, Georgia and Preston Banner and a brother, Rickey Banner. Ronnie proudly served our country in the United States Army, where he actively served in Vietnam during the war. He retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. with 40 years of service and was also retired from his plumbing service business with his father. Ronnie enjoyed spending time at the beach and being with his friends. Ronnie never met a stranger and everywhere he went he made new friends. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at Hayworth-Miller Chapel in Rural Hall with Rev. Robert Lattimore officiating. Burial will follow in Crestview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00-9:00 this evening, Monday, March 6, 2017 at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall.
