Roger "Johnny" Willard

Mr. Roger “Johnny” Allen Willard, age 94, of Winston Salem passed away, March 12, 2022, at his residence. He was born December 11, 1927, in Forsyth County to the late Allen Lee Willard and Winnie Grace Halsey Willard. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons, Mark Allen Willard, and Ronald Leon Willard, and a brother, Jerry Wade Willard. Mr. Willard served in the U.S. Army as a corporal and Medic/Photographer during World War II. During his service in the Army, Roger qualified as Expert Marksman. After retirement from Westinghouse, he enjoyed wood working. Mr. Willard is survived by his wife of 66 years, Lorene Hamm Willard; their daughters, Jeanette (Dan) Jewell, and Levonda Nunn; six grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; and a brother, Ronnie Lee Willard. The family will receive friends Friday March 18, 2022, from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. A graveside service will at 2:30 PM, Friday, March 18, 2022, at the Forsyth Memorial Park Gazebo with Dan Jewell and Thomas Seaford officiating.
