Roger Kent Wilcox

Roger Kent Wilcox, 63, of Rural Hall passed away Friday August 21, 2015 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born on December 3, 1951 in Cabell County, West Virginia to the late James and June Charter Wilcox. Roger was of the Methodist faith. He worked for Jacobs Contracting LLC of Winston-Salem as a pipe welder. His passions in life were music, guitars, and MOPAR cars, especially his Barracudas. In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded in death by his wife, Kathi and childhood friend, Shag. Left to cherish his memory are his fiancé, Paula of the home; his sisters, Bonnie of Huntington, W.Va. and Rose and husband, Armando of Florida; three ""Rent-A-Kids"", Luke, Adam, and Jared; and childhood friends, Gary and Timothy. He is also survived by his many friends, family, and acquaintances he made over the years. A Celebration of Roger's life will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Hayworth-Miller Chapel in Rural Hall. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. The family asks that friends and family wear bright and vivid colors in honor of Roger. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to your local animal shelter.
