Roger Stone

Mr. Roger Lee Stone, 72, passed away Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at Yadkin Nursing Care Center. He was born February 16, 1945 in Forsyth County, the son of John and Myrtle Moorefield Stone. He was a member of Konnoak Hills United Methodist Church, a former member of Christ Moravian Church; was retired with over 20 years of service from Orrell's Food Service and had also worked at Hanover Frozen Foods for 28 years. Roger was the former owner of Tracy's Bridal and was a Past President of the Pony & Colt Baseball League of the Winston-Salem Boy's Club in the early 1970's. He loved his trips to Myrtle Beach, loved all sports and was an avid Wake Forest fan. A kind and generous man, he was devoted to his family He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 37 years, Louise F. Stone; a great grandson, Landon Carter Egebrecht and a brother, Wayne Stone. Survivors include his daughter, Tracy Stone Morrison and husband, Billy of Winston-Salem, a son, Doug Stone and wife, Rose of Winston-Salem; a sister, Debbie Bargoil and husband, Paul of Clemmons; three grandchildren, Adam Egebrecht and wife, Jessica of Yadkinville, SSGT. Nick Egebrecht U.S.A.F. and wife, Samantha of Eglin A.F.B. and Faith Stone of Winston-Salem; a step grandson, Alan Sartain of Concord; three great grandchildren, Zoe Egebrecht, Preston Egebrecht and Bennett Egebrecht. A Gathering of Friends will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Funeral services and burial will be private.
