Roger Burl Sagraves

Mr. Roger Burl Sagraves, 71, of Lewisville, passed away August 8, 2010 at Hospice. Roger was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Rural Hall. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thurman and Fannie Bell Sagraves. Roger is survived by his wife, Norma Carolyn Sagraves; three sons, Russell (Alisha), Wendell (Carole), Mitchell (Pam); one daughter, Karen Blevins (Chuck); a brother, Reed Sagraves (Marie); five grandchildren, Wesley, Joshua, Brooke, Jacob, and Brandon. Roger was raised in Texas but met his wife and the love of his life, Norma Carolyn Gross in Memphis, TN while serving in the U.S. Navy. Roger retired from IBM in Winston-Salem where he had made many lifelong friends. He and Carolyn lived their dream of traveling by motorcycle and later by RV all over the beautiful USA. They continued their travels up until his cancer diagnosis and made many friends who enriched their lives. A funeral service will be held 5:30PM Thursday, August 12, 2010 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Brother Gene Kiger officiating. Burial will follow at Enon Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
