Roger Wayne Russ

Mr. Roger Wayne Russ, age 69 of Pfafftown passed away Friday evening December 7, 2012 at his home. Mr. Russ was born August 18, 1943 in Washington County, VA to Samuel Russ, Sr. and Susie Goodson Russ. He was of the Baptist faith and faithfully attended Friendly Chapel Church in Pilot Mountain. Roger was a veteran having served in the United States Air Force. and worked as a baker for many years. In addition to his parents Roger was preceded in death by three brothers; George Russ, Samuel Russ, Jr. and Lonnie Russ. One grand-daughter: Sarah E. Whitaker. Mr. Russ is survived by his wife of 26 years: Jane Myers Russ of the home. Six children: Missy (Thomas) Frangipani, Sharon (Larry) Miller, Marty (Cathy) Neely, Shelby (Greg) Frady, B.J. (Jerry) Cooper and K.G. Neely. Seventeen grandchildren and four great grandchildren. His mother-in-law; Ruby Myers. Two sisters: Ann Schaeffer and Audrey (Gene) Neely. One brother; Denver Russ. Several nieces and nephews also special friends; Jonathan and Rita McKee. A graveside service will be held Monday, December 10, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at Rust Hollow Cemetery in Abington, VA by Bro. Don Collins and Bro. Jimmy Singleton. The family will receive friends at Friendly Chapel Church in Pilot Mountain Sunday evening December 9th from 7:30 until 9:00 P.M.
