Roger Dean Martin

Roger Dean Martin, 75, of Dobson passed away Sunday, February 23, 2025, at Baptist Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born February 28, 1949, in Mt. Airy, NC to the late Charles Lindbergh Martin and Evelyn Reynolds Hodge. Mr. Martin proudly served his country in the United States Army and also served for many years in the Pilot Mountain volunteer fire department as a captain. He retired as the Public Works Director for the town of Jonesville in 2014. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Jeremy Sprinkle. Mr. Martin is survived by his wife, Nancy Heath Martin, two daughters; Cindy Martin Sprinkle (Mark) of Kernersville NC, and Michelle Hall McLaughlin (James) of Sevierville TN, two sons; Bro. Christopher Martin of Mt. Airy, Michael Hall of Pilot Mountain, two grandsons; Nathan Sprinkle, Patrick Mclaughlin, four granddaughters; Rebekah McLaughlin, Carriella Starnes, Kalee and Kendall Hall; and two sisters; Carol Martin Lawson (Henry), and Sherill Hodge Bowman of Mt. Airy. A memorial service will be conducted 3:00PM Sunday March 2, 2025 at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel with Bro. Chris Martin officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude’s Childrens Research Hospital.
