Roger "Hans" Dale Hauser

Roger Dale Hauser, also known as Hans, passed away unexpectedly on December 5, 2024. He was born March 14, 1949, the son of Leroy Edward and Hallie Hill Hauser in Forsyth County. Hans grew up in Winston-Salem, graduating from West Forsyth High School and furthering his education in Arts and Design. He then moved to Atlanta, Georgia where he worked in various industries, but established a flourishing career as a renowned fashion stylist. After the passing of his father, Hans moved back to Winston-Salem to help care for his mother. During this time, he fulfilled his lifelong dream by opening his own business, Putting on the Ritz, in Hanestown, which was his childhood home. Hans was considered an icon in his profession, working diligently to establish his business as a gem of the Southeast. His knowledge, passion, and deep love for vintage fashion continuously shined throughout his storefront and to his customers, of which he considered family. Hans will be lovingly remembered as a kind, generous, and compassionate individual, and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He is preceded in death by his parents and his nephew, Zach Brewer. He is survived by his brother, Ed Hauser and wife Sandra, as well as his beloved sister, Renea Brewer and husband, Dean. He is also survived by his nieces, Jennifer Vickers (Tommy), and Andrea Martin (Greg), nephew, Josh Brewer, and three great nieces: Taylor, Payton and Meredith. A private memorial service honoring Hans and his legacy will be held at a later date.
