Mr. Roger Dale Gordon, 79, a resident of Winston-Salem, passed away on March 14, 2025 with his family by his side. He was born July 9, 1945 in Forsyth county to Carson William "Jack" and Ruth Brendle Gordon. He retired from Piedmont/U.S. Airways as a mechanic and machinist after 29 years of service. He was a member of the I.A.M Iocal 2444. After his retirement, he enjoyed volunteering at Crisis Control and loved hanging out with his breakfast crew at Hardees. He was a member of Mount Carmel Methodist Church and served on various committees. He was a 1963 graduate of Mineral Spring High School and a past member of Griffith Fire Dept.

Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Wanda Frye Gordon of the home; two daughters, Kimberly Hutchens, and husband Jamie, of Walnut Cove, NC and Susan Jones and husband David of Flat Rock, NC; one super granddaughter, Zoe Anderson and husband, Ashton of Zirconia, NC; one sister, Vicky Rutledge of Rural Hall; and his four-legged partner in crime, Cooper.

A graveside service will be held Monday, March 17, 2025 at 1:00PM in Mt. Carmel Global Methodist Church, 4265 Ebert Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27127. The family will receive friends following the graveside service. Mr. Gordon will lie in state at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel, 3315 Silas Creek Pkwy, Winston-Salem, NC 27103, beginning at 3:00PM Sunday. There will not be a formal visitation. 

In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to Crisis Control Ministry or a charity of your choice.
