Roger Keith Garrell, Jr.

Roger ""Keith"" Garrell, Jr., 52, passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at the Woltz Hospice Home after a courageous battle with Glioblastoma Multiforme (brain tumor.) He was born December 1, 1964 in Forsyth County. Keith was a member of Jessup Grove Baptist Church, serving as a Deacon and was on the mission's team often taking mission trips. He retired from the W-S Police Department after 23 years of service. Keith was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting, fishing, and kayaking. He was a loving husband, father, son, and brother. Preceding him in death was his father, Roger Keith Garrell, Sr. Surviving is his wife of 30 years, Ellen Tysinger Garrell; son, Adam Keith Garrell (Taylor); daughter, Allison Marie Garrell; mother, Peggy Garrell; sister, Taina Norris (Rick); nephew, Cameron Norris; also surviving are many other nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law. The family will receive friends 6-9 PM Saturday at the church. A funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM Sunday, April 16, 2017 at Jessup Grove Baptist Church with Pastor Barry Clement and Pastor Tim Burton officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff at the Forsyth Cancer Center, especially Dr. Paschold and his nurse, Paula; the Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center; Dr. Steven Klein and the staff at Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson for all the care that was provided to Keith.
