""I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith."" Mr. Roger Franklin Felts, age 84, passed away Friday evening July 23, 2010 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. Roger was born in Surry County, NC on October 21, 1925 to the late Charles and Nellie Pardue Felts. He was a member of Pinedale Christian Church and retired from Southern Bell with 38 years of service. Roger served in World War II and the Korean Conflict before retiring from the U.S. Naval Reserves with 42 years of service. Roger loved working in his yard and his vegetable garden. He also often could be found tinkering in his workshop and fixing things. Above all, his greatest joy was spending time with his family. He is preceded in death by previous wife Emma Jane Felts. Roger is survived by wife Barbara C. Felts; two sons Michael Felts (Jeannie) of Lewisville and Greg Felts (Elizabeth) of Kernersville; daughter Susan Felts; three grandchildren Sarah Felts, Benjamin Felts, and Emma Felts; and sister Mary Trimble of Houston, TX. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday July 26, 2010 at Parklawn Memorial Park with Rev. Danny Spainhour, Jerry Mathis, and Chick Plunkett officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. The family wishes to express their appreciation to the neighbors and caregivers who have helped in recent months as well as to the Covenant Class of Pinedale for their faithful kindness and devotion to Roger.
