Roger Dale Eaton

Mr. Roger Eaton, 68, of Kernersville, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 28, 2023, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born on February 8, 1955, in Forsyth County to James Franklin Otis and Hazel Nelson Eaton. Roger enjoyed music, especially Gospel. He loved to sing it and play the guitar and bass. He also enjoyed watching old movies. When he was younger, Roger loved to play sports like baseball, basketball, and softball. He was a loving son, brother, and friend who never met a stranger. He will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded in death by his brother, James Eaton, Sr. (wife, Laura) and his nephew, Jeff Saunders.

He is survived by two siblings, Vi Batton (husband, Bob) and William Eaton (wife, Jeanne); two stepchildren, Courtney and Brandon and their mother, Kim Eaton; six grandchildren; and many special nieces and nephews.  

A graveside service for Roger will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, August 1, 2023, at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm Sunday, July 30, 2023, at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home.
