Roger Dale Duggins

Mr. Roger ""Dale"" Duggins, 53, of Carolina Beach, formerly of Winston-Salem, died Thursday, October 2, 2008 at his home. He was born November 20, 1954 in Winston-Salem to Billy Joe and Frances Parks Duggins. He was a graduate of Parkland High School. Dale lived his last 8 years at his home with his wife Sheila in Carolina Beach where he loved spending time with and visiting family and friends. Dale had a zest for life. He loved the coast and fishing, taking a ride on his Harley Davidson and was a Huge Dale Earnhart fan. Dale had worked in the auto paint industry for most of his life. He traveled the US working for Earl Shibe Automotive before settling in Carolina Beach and running his own business, Affordable paint and Body Shop. He enjoyed working with his customers and helping them out in their time of need. Following a long illness, Dale found peace and comfort in his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was preceded in death by his father. Survivors include his wife, Sheila Swaim Duggins of the home; his children, Travis Duggins, Audra Duggins and Dale Davis; his mother and step father, Frances Parks James and Rodger James of Lexington; his brothers, Billy Joe Duggins, Johnny Rayson, Luther Rayson, Jr. and Jamie James; his sisters, Laura Rayson Shankle, Linda Rayson Cooper, Sonya Rayson Haynes, and Maxie Martin Callahan; The funeral service will be conducted Sunday at 11:00 AM at Parklawn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Kevin Haynes officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
