Roger Leon Bauguss

Mr. Roger Leon Bauguss, 79, died Sunday, May 20, 2012, at the Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC. Born in Forsyth County, he lived the last 38 years in Kernersville NC and was a member of the Oaklawn Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father, Everette Odell Bauguss. A graduate of Glenn High School, Roger served the community through his work with the Triangle Fire Department. He committed his working life to community organizing and political engagement, serving as the Union Representative for Western Electric and as the Secretary-Treasurer of the State AFL/CIO. Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years, Ginger Carper Bauguss; his mother Fern Swaim Daniel; his son Guy Dean Bauguss; his two sisters Phylis Angell and her husband Nelson, Carolyn Pappas and her husband Jim; his four grandchildren Nicole, Mair and Tara Bauguss, Tyler and Ean Bauguss; and a number of nieces and nephews. A funeral will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday at Oaklawn Baptist Church on Kernersville Road. The Pastor Todd Haley will officiate. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens on High Point Road. The family will receive friends for a visitation prior to the funeral from 1:00 until 1:45 pm at the church. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com.
