Rodney Lee Warren

Mr. Rodney Lee Warren, 70, of Lexington passed away Monday, April 6, 2009 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born February 24, 1939 in Forsyth County to Leonard and Elizabeth Cline Warren. Mr. Warren was a dedicated Christian, and a loving, faithful husband, father, grandfather and brother. He retired from Hanes Hosiery with 49 years of service. He loved being outdoors and loved gardening. He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Wenona Myers Warren; one sister, Barbara Craver; and a brother, Steve Warren. Surviving are two daughters, Cathy Welch of Winston-Salem and Donna Smith of Lexington; one son, Rodney Keith Warren of Lexington; two grandchildren, Jamie Welch and Wenona Paschal; four great grandchildren, Marley, Josie, Hailey, and Dillon; two sisters, Brenda Ball and husband George of King and Elsie Faye Yokeley of Kernersville. A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, April 9 at Parklawn Memorial Park. There is no stated visitation, but friends and family may come by Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel between 6-8 p.m. Wednesday to pay their respects. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 4 A Oak Branch Drive, Greensboro, NC 27407. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com
