Rodney Spear

Mr. Rodney Lynn Spear, 65, passed away Saturday, May 15, 2021 at Wake Forest Baptist Health Center. He was born in Forsyth Co. on November 16, 1955 the son of the late Thomas and Norma Robertson Spear. Rodney proudly served our country in the United States Navy. He worked for the NC Department of Corrections, Wake Forest Baptist Health Center Security and lastly he worked as a landscape contractor. Rodney loved his grandbabies more than anything else in the world and spoiled them as much as he could. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Jodi Lynn Spear; and a sister, Robin Annette Spear. Rodney is survived by his wife of 36 years, Sandra Cline Spear; his children, Jeremy Spear (Dixie), Julie Uhl (Justyn) and Jordan Spear (Christa); eight grandchildren, Patience Cole (Michael DiDomenico), Sean Cole, Declan Cole, Aadyn Spear, Hudson Uhl, Gemma Spear, Bowen Uhl and Georgia Spear; two great-grandchildren, Caius and Ezra DiDomenico; two sisters, Ronda Spear and Rita Spear; two brothers, Randy Spear and Ricky Spear and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service celebrating Rodney’s life will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 22, 2021 at Bethany Baptist Church, Family Life Center in Winston-Salem with Dr. Brad Stamey, Rev. Walker Armstrong, Rev. Nathan Tuttle and Rev. Dave Shelton officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the Family Life Center. Inurnment will take place at Salisbury National Cemetery at a later date.
