Robert Franklin Dotson, Sr.

Mr. Robert Franklin Dotson, Sr., 87, of Winston-Salem, passed away at his daughter’s residence in Concord, VA on Thursday, April 28, 2022.  Robert was born on October 7, 1934, in Rainelle, WV, to the late Theodore Ashby Dotson and Grace Walkup Dotson.  Robert was a longtime member of Berean Baptist Church.  He worked as a milk processor, retiring after 35 plus years of service.  Following retirement, Robert worked in the maintenance department at Berean Baptist Church.  In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Jeanne Bene′ Dotson and his brothers, Jim Dotson, Raymond Dotson, Carl Dotson, and Curtis Dotson; and one son-in-law, Ron Smither.  He is survived by his children, Sharon Smither, Robert Dotson, Jr. (Carla), Cindy Wright (Warren), and John Dotson; nine grandchildren, Amanda Dotson, Kortni Seagraves (Kevin), Frankie Dotson, III, Joey Wright (Adara), Joshua Wright, Ben Wright, Crystal Wilhelm, Charity Brown (Cory), and John Dotson, Jr.; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Guy Dotson; and one sister, Jessie Dotson Williamson.  A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, May 5, 2022, at Berean Baptist Church with Dr. Ron Baity officiating.  Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm prior to the service at the church.  Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel is assisting the family of Mr. Dotson.
