Robert "Bobby" Lyons, Sr.

Mr. Robert “Bobby” G. Lyons, Sr. passed away on Dec 17, 2020 at Novant Forsyth Medical Center. Those of us left behind are terribly saddened but he is rejoicing in the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Bobby was 84 and was born in Yadkin County on August 20, 1936 to the late Gernie W. Lyons and Berti M. Marion Lyons.

Bobby honored his country by serving in the U.S. Army.  When honorably discharged he learned the trade of electrical work.  He received his electrical license and became a successful businessman creating his own business, Lyons Electric.

He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.  He was preceded in death by his wife, whom he loved dearly, Peggy Marie Tate Lyons.  Surviving are his three children, Lynn Lyons, Carole Lyons Sagraves, (Wendell) and Robert Lyons, Jr., (Rhonda) as well as, three of his brothers, Jack W. Lyons, (Harriet), Davie L. Lyons, and Harold E. Henderson. Bobby was an all-around “Mr. Fix It”.  He always enjoyed working with his hands and could repair car engines to dishwashers or build most anything. He loved the challenge of tinkering with old lawn mowers and getting them back in working order. Bobby loved the Lord and attended Grace Baptist Church of Germanton. He was a friend to all. He always kept his Bible by his sitting chair and always related real life situations to what the Bible said.  Always thinking of the Lord. He will forever be remembered.

Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Forsyth Memorial Park, with Pastor Andy Proctor officiating.
