Robert "Bob" Gibson, Sr.

Robert C. Gibson, 75, passed away Sunday, January 1, 2023, at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem, North Carolina with loved ones by his side. He was affectionately known as Bob or Buster to family and friends. Bob loved fishing, always hoping to catch the big one and saying he did, even if he didn’t. During family gatherings, he could be found shooting at targets with his kids and grandkids. Even though he was often sarcastic and would tease (a trait he passed down to his son and grandson) he loved his family more than anything and will be missed tremendously. Bob has been reunited with his parents Junior and Valerie Gibson. Bob will continue to live on in the hearts of his surviving family, partner of more than 25 years, Marlene Hester; sons Robbie (Tracy, pre-deceased) Gibson and Kevin (Kristin) Gibson; daughter Sara Floyd; Allison (Darrell) Mabe; Sherry Lambeth; Shane Lambeth; grandchildren, Calvin, Greg, Madison, Tanner, Harper, Dylan, Jordan, Ruby, and Sawyer; siblings, Ronnie (Lynn), Roger (Cindy), and Sherry. A funeral service will be held 10:00 AM Saturday January 7, 2023, at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel with Mr. Darrell Mabe officiating. Interment will take place 2:00 PM Saturday January 7, 2023, at Springwood Baptist Church Cemetery, 88 Copps Hill Road, Buchanan, VA, 24066.
