Roberta Sides Renigar

Mrs. Roberta Sides Renigar, 92, of Winston-Salem, passed away on Thursday June 23, 2011 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. Mrs. Renigar was born on June 20, 1919 in Forsyth County to the late Robert and Flossie Sides. She was a lifelong member of Union Ridge UMC and she was best known as the ""hardware lady."" She owned and operated Renigar Hardware on Arcadia Avenue for 40 years. Preceding her in death along with her parents are her husband, Rome O. Renigar, Jr.; four siblings, Mary Snyder, William C. Sides, Sr., Kenneth Sides and Edith S. Kinnaman. Surviving Mrs. Renigar are one daughter, Dr. Ann Renigar Hiatt (Roger Dale) of Lake Norman, NC; one granddaughter, Dr. Alexandria Duffy (Dr. Michael) of Charlotte, NC; one great-granddaughter Alana Duffy of Charlotte, NC; one sister, Margie Sides Teague (Sidney) of Winston-Salem; one brother, Robert E. Sides, Jr. (Dorothy Holland) of Kernersville; as well as many special nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted on Sunday, June 26, 2011 at 3:00 PM at Union Ridge United Methodist Church with the Rev. Gary Elrod officiating. Mrs. Sides will lie in state for 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A visitation will be held at the church following the committal service in the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be sent in memory of Mrs. Renigar to the Elizabeth & Tab Williams Adult Day Center, 231 Melrose St. Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
