Roberta Bates Phipps

Mrs. Roberta Bates Phipps, 74, passed away Wednesday January 20, 2010 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born September, 11, 1933 in Durham, North Carolina to Carl and Flossie Wood Shoaf. She attended Victory Baptist Church. Mrs. Phipps was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her father and one daughter, Pamela Ann Phipps. Surviving, in addition to her mother, are her loving husband of 58 years, Curtis Phipps; three daughters, Denise Soloman and husband Jerry of Winston-Salem, Karen Beck and husband Malcomb of High Point, Yvonne Lavan and husband Ronald of Mocksville; one son, Jonathan and wife Vicki Phipps of Walkertown; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held 2:00PM Friday, January 22, 2010 at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens with Pastor Tracey Webb officiating.
