Mrs. Roberta Mae Stewart Lawson, 72, of Winston Salem passed away Saturday , June 28, 2014 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born in Burnwell, West Virginia on March 23, 1942 to the late Bert and Irene Clark Stewart. She was a member of Bethlehem Church of Midway. She enjoyed being the perfect homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother. Mae was preceded in death by her parents; one brother Daniel ""John"" Stewart, and three grandchildren. She is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Bud Lawson; three sons, Eric Lawson and wife Mindy of Lexington, Paul Toney and wife Donda of Farmington, Jeffery ‘Jeff' Toney and special friend Cindy of Winston-Salem; two stepdaughters, Jennifer Robbins and husband Gene of Winston Salem, Lori Lewis and husband Rob of Winston Salem; nine grandchildren; four brothers, Bert ""Chick"" Stewart and wife Becky of Ohio, Curtis Stewart and wife Rose of East Bend, Donald Stewart and wife Diane of Advance, and William ""Bill"" Stewart of W.Va. A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday June 30, 2014 at Bethlehem Church of Midway with Pastor Rick Swaim officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
