Mr. Robert Franklin Wood, Sr. 85, of Lexington, passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at the Brian Center of Lexington. He was born March 26, 1931 in Davidson County to Beulah Beatrice Craver Wood and William Franklin Wood. Mr. Wood was a veteran who served in the U.S. Marine Corp during the Korean Conflict and was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post # 10485. He was a member of Arcadia United Methodist Church and retired from Ramey Inc. Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Mrs. Rachel Scott Wood; two sons, Robert ""Frankie"" Wood (wife Jeanne) and Scott Wood (wife Terry), all of Lexington; one daughter, Lynn Dean and four grandchildren, Amanda Wood, Rebecca Wood, Christopher Dean and Steven Dean; one step-granddaughter, Courtney Wilson (husband) Mike and two step-great grandsons, Brandon DeHart (wife Stevie) and Matthew DeHart. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, June 24, 2016 at Arcadia United Methodist Church cemetery with Rev. Chris Elliott officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
