Robert Lewis Bob" Weavil

Mr. Robert Lewis ""Bob"" Weavil, 62, passed away Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at Rex Health Care in Raleigh. He was born March 3, 1946 in Forsyth County to the late Elbert Lewis Weavil and Louise Dillon Weavil. Mr. Weavil was a member of Mizpah Moravian Church. He was an avid musician playing in local orchestras and community bands as well as music within the church. Mr. Weavil was also a woodwind player in the Little Symphony of Forsyth County. He had been in the dry cleaning business earlier in life, but found his calling in his last work as a teacher's assistant at Kernersville Middle School. Mr. Weavil had an abiding love for children. He volunteered at Brenner's Children's Hospital and loved to play Santa Claus at Christmas. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, David Michael Weavil. Mr. Weavil is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth Grubbs ""Libby"" Weavil of the home, two brothers, Rev. Terry Weavil and wife Holley of West Salem, IL and Tommy Weavil and wife Pam of Meridianville, AL., an uncle, Herbert Weavil and wife Fay of Winston-Salem and four aunts, Mary Adams and husband Lee of Salem, VA and Mary Nelson of Winston-Salem, Opal Weavil of Arden and Sadie Weavil of Kernersville Funeral services for Mr. Weavil will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 3, 2009 at Mizpah Moravian Church in Rural Hall with Rev. Jonathan Boling officiating. Burial will follow in God's Acre at the church. The family will receive friends from 6-8 this evening January 2, 2009 at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall.
