Robert Harris Walker

Mr. Robert ""Bob"" Harris Walker, 73, of Walkertown, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Sunday, October 24, 2010 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born January 16, 1937 in Forsyth County to Myrtle Harris and Robert Steven Walker. He was a member of Woodland Baptist Church where he served in the bus ministry, and was a member of the Auditorium class where he served as past president. Mr. Walker retired from AT&T. He enjoyed fishing and telling his ""Bob tales"" with his buddies at the ""little store"". Preceding Mr. Walker in death are his parents and a sister, Martha Walker. Surviving is his wife, Linda Robertson Walker; two daughters, Debbie Lee and husband Robert of Kernersville, Denise Essick and husband, Darrell of Trinity; four sons, Steve Walker and wife Angie of Belews Creek, Gordon Scott Walker and wife Tonya of Ft. Bragg, Buddy Perdue of King, and Tracy Perdue of Walkertown; seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; a sister, Peggy Brookshire of Lewisville, a brother, William Walker and wife Jewell of Winston-Salem; several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted 2:00PM Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at Woodland Baptist Church with Pastor Tim Gammons and Rev. Vic Pyles officiating. Interment will follow at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. The family will receive friends from 6:00PM until 8:00PM Monday at the church. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Nick Chrysson and his staff and to the nurses and CNA's on the 9th floor West of Forsyth Medical Center for their exceptional care of Mr. Walker.
