Mr. Robert Douglas ""Doug"" Tuttle, age 69 passed away Monday, March 20, 2017 at Forsyth Medical Center. Doug was born in Forsyth County to the late Mary Louise Merritt Tuttle and Robert William Tuttle. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Doug was a master carpenter who had worked for some of the leading contractors in Winston-Salem. His last job was helping his friend Bob Ryan. Doug loved sports, especially NASCAR racing. He will be remembered for his always friendly, outgoing personality and will be greatly missed. Doug was of the Moravian faith. In addition to his parents Doug was preceded in death by his mother and father-in-law, Howard and Annie Mulwee and by three brothers-in-law. Doug is survived by his wife, Jewel Mulwee Tuttle, one son, Robert Lance Tuttle, one sister, Patricia T. (Johnny) Reich and a sister-in-law, Penny Arbonost. Several nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial service will be conducted Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. at Rural Hall Memorial Park in Rural Hall. The family will receive friends immediately following the memorial service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Forsyth County Humane Society, 4881 Country Club Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27104. Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home is serving the Tuttle Family.
