Robert Pops Thompson, Jr.

Mr. Robert ""Pops"" Thompson, Jr., 49, of Winston-Salem unexpectedly departed from this life into heaven on Saturday, December 5, 2009. He was affectionately known as ""Pops"" by his two grandsons, Devin and Jacob; and his five children, Jennifer, Buffy, Jimmy, Hona, and Tiffany. Rob was a very special father, grandfather, brother, and a well respected mechanic, coach, deer hunter and friend. Pops will be greatly missed and will remain close to our hearts. A celebration of life service will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 9 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Chaplain Jason Kent officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home prior to the service. The family requests memorials be made to Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home, 3315 Silas Creek Parkway, Winston-Salem, NC 27103 (Robert H. Thompson, Jr. Memorial Fund).
