Robert Shafter Bobby" Tally

Mr. Robert Shafter ""Bobby"" Tally, 74, passed away at his home in Walkertown early Thursday morning, August 19, 2010. He was born in Forsyth County on May 2, 1936 to the late Shelton O. Tally Sr. and Golda Moser Tally. Bobby retired from North Carolina Department of Transportation with 37 years of service. He was a member of Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church for 64 years. Bobby was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be missed greatly by all who knew him. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Marion Davis and a brother, Shelton O. Tally Jr. Bobby is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Linda Grubbs Tally of the home, two daughters, Tracy Tally of the home and Kelly Montgomery and husband Jim of Walkertown, his granddaughter and the light of his life, Morgan Montgomery, a sister, Peggy McKnight and husband Bill of Winston-Salem, a sister-in-law, Betty Tally of Walkertown, a brother-in-law, Bob Davis of Clemmons and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Saturday, August 21, 2010 at Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church in Walkertown with Rev. Darrell Fulp and Rev. Eilene Ayuso officiating. The family will receive friends directly following the service at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to: Mt.
