Robert Dudley Stewart, Jr.

KERNERSVILLE-Robert ""Bob"" Dudley Stewart, Jr., 74, a loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born July 12, 1936 in Guilford Co. to the late Mae Elizabeth Huff Stewart and Robert Dudley Stewart, Sr. Bob was a member of Summit Church in Kernersville. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict and was in the Drum and Bugle Corp. He retired after 33 years of service with Piedmont Airlines/US Airways. Bob was an avid Baltimore Orioles fan matter of fact that was the only team. When the employees of Chick-fil-A saw him and Helen coming they knew exactly what to serve them! Bob was a big kidder and had many friends. He loved Dixie Land Jazz and working his puzzles. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter, Melissa ""Missy"" Duggins. Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Helen Blackwell Stewart of the home; daughter, Cindy DiNicolas and husband, Jeff of Winston Salem; grandchildren, Ian Pinnix and Corbin DiNicolas both of Winston Salem; and sister, Nancy Garren and husband, Don of Virginia. A Graveside Service will be conducted with military honors at 1:00 pm Saturday, May 28, 2011 at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens with Pastor Jonathan Robbins officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 pm Friday, May 27, 2011 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel. Memorials may be made to The Summit Church, 4440 High Point Rd., Kernersville, NC 27284.
