Robert Wilson Smith

Mr. Robert Wilson Smith, 83, of Lewisville, died Wednesday, August 20, 2008 at his home. Mr. Smith was born January 27, 1925 in Surry County, a son of the late William David Smith and the late Lonie Lawson Smith. He was a US Army veteran serving in the Military Police during WW II. He was a true outdoorsman, when his health permitted, he loved to play golf, hunt, fish, and plant his garden. He was a member of Concord United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Holloman Smith in 1996. Mr. Smith is survived by his daughters, Vicki Ingram and husband Philip, Diane Huffman and husband David all of Lewisville, grandchildren, Robert Ingram of Lewisville, Jason Huffman and wife Jeni of Winston-Salem, brothers, Walt Smith of GA., Pete Smith of GA., Woody Smith of LA., and sister, Estelle Dillon of Winston-Salem. A graveside service will be conducted 10:30 AM Saturday, August 23, 2008 at Forsyth Memorial Park with Rev. Thomas Albert officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at Concord United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Concord United Methodist Church.
