Robert Smith

Mr. Robert "Ray" Smith, 83, of Winston-Salem, passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mr. Smith was born on June 13, 1934 in Forsyth County to Daniel and Laura Perry Smith. Ray was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He loved all things that had to do with guns. He would reload all his own bullets, make his own targets and loved working on his guns. Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Louise Juoska; brothers, Coy, Howard and Edward Smith. He is survived by his loving wife Pearl; son, Robert Gregory Smith; daughter, Sandra Julane Hendricks; grandson, Jordan Wayne Hendricks; granddaughter, Chelsea Hendricks and four nieces. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, January 7, 2018 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel, with Rev. Francis Smith officiating. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to a charity of your choice.
