Robert Thomas "Tommy" Shouse

Mr. Robert Thomas ""Tommy"" Shouse, 73, passed away February 21, 2016 at Kate B. Hospice and Palliative Care in Winston-Salem. He was born November 5, 1942 in Forsyth County to the late John Ernest Shouse and Edna Vaughn Shouse. Robert worked at R.J. Reynolds, then became an entrepreneur collecting coins, knives and many other collectibles. He and Martha enjoyed cruises and traveled the world seeing the different sites of interest. He was a dedicated and loving husband, father, grandfather, and will dearly be missed by all who knew him. Robert is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Martha W. Shouse; one son, Jeffrey Thomas (Deborah) Shouse; one daughter, Sherri Shouse Thigpen; extended family, Tammy Pikula (James), Terry Crews, Tracy Crews (Amy); grandchildren, Patrick, Christian, Colin, Trey, Charlie, Noah, Ben; one brother, William Henry Shouse, and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Thursday, February 25, 2016 at Hayworth-Miller Chapel in Rural Hall, with Ralph Sproles, Minister officiating. Interment will follow at The Shouse Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at Hayworth-Miller Chapel in Rural Hall. In lieu of flowers, memorials made be made to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice and Palliative Care, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, N.C., 27103. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com.
