Mr. Robert Lewis Remsburg, Jr., 84, of Winston-Salem passed away Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. He was born February 18, 1926 in Dunn, NC to Robert Lewis Remsburg, Sr. and Annie Clark Remsburg. Mr. Remsburg was a member of Highland Presbyterian Church. He was a veteran of WWII serving in Europe with the U.S. Army 94th Infantry Division, and was the recipient of the Bronze Star. He was retired from the N.C. Division of Veteran Affairs as Senior District Service Officer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter. Surviving are his wife, Mary Keene Remsburg; two children, Sarah Remsburg Fix and husband Tom of Lewisville, Robert Lewis Remsburg III and wife Tammi of Locust, NC; two grandsons, Alexander Remsburg and Stephen Remsburg; a brother, Clark L. Remsburg and wife Joyce of Charleston, SC; a brother-in-law, Ira W. Keen and wife Terri of Murrells Inlet, SC; and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Doris Williams of Greensboro. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 11 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with the Rev. Randy Harris officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service.
