Mr. Robert Clifton Miller, 79 of Winston-Salem passed away Friday, September 26, 2008 at Forsyth Medical following a brief illness. Mr. Miller was born in Stockton, California November 29, 1928, the son of the late Michael Miller and Olga Perry Miller. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Kathleen Miller of the home; daughter, Joan Arroyo and husband, John of Virginia Beach, VA; son Michael Miller of Winston-Salem; daughter, Susan Miller and Lori Christenson of Simsbury, CT; five grandchildren, Regina Erwin and husband, Brian, Jessica Richard and husband, Gary and Carla Arroyo of Virginia, Cassandra Munns and husband, Mike of Nevada and Ian Miller stationed with the US Air Force in Italy and his wife Lisa; three great grandchildren, Cali Chapman, Natalie Munns, and Alicia Miller; three step great grandchildren, Nicole, Michael and Alexis Munns; sister, Michelle Bower and husband, Doug; cousin Vahl Clemensen and wife, Pam and several nieces and nephews. He served with the US Navy during World War II and was a graduate of Rose Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, Indiana. His work as a civil engineer with Kaiser Engineers of Oakland, California took the family to Australia, Greece, Iran, Hong Kong, Saudi Arabia and Ghana. He also worked for the State Department in Poland, Somalia and Russia. Following retirement his interest in travel and Archaeology took him and his wife on many extended holidays all over the world. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Memorials may be made to College Year in Athens, P. O.
