Robert Melvin, Jr.

On Thursday, December 17, 2020 Robert Philip Melvin, Jr. loving Father of two sons went into eternal life in the arms of Angels at the age of 80. Philip was born April 2, 1940 in Winston-Salem, NC to Dr. Robert Philip Melvin, Sr. and Ethel C. Melvin. Philip was an accountant in Winston-Salem. Philip married Sylvia Loretta Bair, who passed away May 19, 1969. They had two sons, Bob and his wife, Vivian and children, Philip and Chris. Also, Randy and his wife, Regis and children, Sylvia and Gavin. Philip has a passion for traveling. He enjoyed RVing in his Newmar Dutchstar with partner, Becky Garner. Philip had been a member of Tarheel Country Club since July 2003. He had served in every office role and most recently as the Carolina State Director along with Becky. He also served his country in the United States Army. Philip grew up and loved White Lake NC. In 1997, he started to enjoy Lake Norman also in NC. He loves boats and to fish! Philip also Loved his two sons and his four grandchildren in which had a special place in his heart. There will be a graveside service Monday, December 21, 2020 at 1:00pm at Forsyth Memorial Park.
