Robert Lee "Bob" Mayo

Mr. Robert Lee ""Bob"" Mayo, 85, passed away Saturday, April 2, 2016 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born in Georgia on November 28, 1930 the son of the late Grady and Louise Mayo. Bob was a loving husband, father, step-father, grandfather and friend. He was a longtime member of Marshall Baptist Church, where he had served as a greeter and an usher. Bob retired from Roadway with 32 years of service having received a 3 million mile safe driving award. After his retirement from Roadway he drove for various area bus lines. Bob loved God, his family, his church family and his beloved Miami Dolphins. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his six siblings. Bob is survived by his wife of 39 years, Mary Mayo of the home, a daughter; Pam Mayo Rioux (Paul) of Brandon, MS, a son; Ronnie Mayo of Douglasville, GA, a step-son; Allen Dellinger (Sharon) of Walnut Cove, eight grandchildren; Krissy Loden, Kirk Loden, Jessica Smith (Brent Felker), Jake Dellinger (Miranda Mabe), Teresa Smith (Michael Lewis), Jordan Dellinger (Kristin Lashmit), Amy Mayo and Katie Mayo, 13 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at Marshall Baptist Church with Pastor John Holmes officiating. Entombment will be in Gardens of Memory Mausoleum in Walkertown. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 Monday, April 4, 2016 at Marshall Baptist Church. The family would like to thank all the doctors, nurses and staff of the Palliative Floor at Forsyth Medical Center for all their love and compassion.
