ROBERT WAYNE LOEKLE

Robert Wayne Loekle, 83, died peacefully at home surrounded by family on July 31, 2023. He was born in Newark, NJ on December 6, 1939, to Audrey Marie (Smith) Loekle and O. Frank Loekle.

Wayne earned his bachelor's degree in economics from William & Mary in 1961. Following graduation, he served as a military police officer in the Vietnam War.

Upon honorable discharge, Wayne married the love of his life and forever soulmate Dianne Leslie McNeil, on February 1, 1964, and the Loekles continued to celebrate a blessed Christian marriage for 59 years. They settled in Maryland where Wayne was a highly respected businessman in the automotive industry. He was also a faithful servant of the Lord. Upon moving to North Carolina in 2007, Wayne and Dianne eagerly joined Peace Haven Baptist Church in Winston-Salem. He served as a deacon and a member of many church committees and joyfully sang in the church choir.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Dianne, his daughter, Kim Lee (Rick), his son, Scott Loekle (Susan-deceased), and his daughter, Tammy Trotman (Seth), ten grandchildren, two grandchildren-in-love, and two future grandchildren-in-love. He is also survived by his sister-in-love, DeeDee Cummins (Jim), a beloved nephew, Tom Cummins (Mary), and beloved niece, Sheri Cummins (Jeff), and their respective families.

A Celebration of Love service will be held on August 19, 2023, at 11 :00 AM at Peace Haven Baptist Church, 3384 York Rd., Winston-Salem, NC 27106. A church reception will follow the service.
