Robert Lee Link, Jr.

Mr. Robert Lee Link, Jr., 80, of Arcadia passed away August 5, 2010 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. He was born March 23, 1930 to the late Robert Lee Link and Myrtle Byerly Link. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ripple Link. He was also preceded in death by his two sisters, Thelma ""Snookie"" Reid and Scarlet Lynn Link and a brother, Roy Reid Link. He attended Arcadia United Methodist Church and was retired from J. W. Burris. Mr. Link served in the U.S. Army and in the Korean War. After his retirement he continued his work as a hobby in his garage tinkering with lawnmowers, tractors, and his toys. He is survived by his son, Barry Link of Winston-Salem; a sister, Dorothy Huffman and four brothers, Bobby Link (Betty), Richard Link (Peggy), Monty Link (Bonnie), Wayne Link (Jean) all of Lexington; a brother-in-law, Hauser Reid; a sister-in-law, Margaret Link and also a special friend, Shirley Reid all of Lexington. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00am, Wednesday, August 11, 2010 at Arcadia United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Tuesday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Memorials may be made to the charity of choice.
