Mr. Robert Smith Lineback was called to be with his Lord and Savior Wednesday morning January 20, 2010. Robert was born in Forsyth county on August 18, 1926 to the late Ernest and Pearl Lineback. Robert served in the U S Army during World War II and was stationed in post-war Japan where he had many memories ""touring the country"" in his jeep. Robert was a loyal and trusted employee of Sears Roebuck where he retired after 44 years of service. Upon retirement he enjoyed playing golf and lending a hand whenever it was needed. Most relied on him as a Jack-of-all-trades but not everyone knew he had a talent for handcrafting. These handmade things he gave us will forever be treasured mementos of family and friends. Robert was a very loving husband, father, and grandfather. His granddaughters have the fondest memories of his stories, jokes and heartfelt hugs. He was preceded in death by his his brother Roy Lineback and his sister Helen Ellis. He is survived by his wife Leona; daughter Pat Lineback; son Steve Lineback; two granddaughters Stephanie Anderson and Elizabeth Lineback; and sister Mary (Bud) Bodsford. A graveside service will be held at 12:30 PM Saturday January 23, 2010 at Forsyth Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimers Association Western Carolina Chapter, 1315 Ashleybrook Ln, Winston-Salem, NC 27103. The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Clemmons Village I assisted living facility for their gracious care and loving support to Robert and Leona.
